Who we are
About SEO for Founders
We write for people who built a product with their own money and are now wondering about links.
What this site is
SEO for Founders is a self-serve marketplace for single dofollow backlinks. Around it sit guides for the stage between a first deploy and a first hundred customers. The editorial team writes them, and opinions are labelled as such. Plain enough.
The marketplace lists 50,000+ vetted donor domains. Browse freely. Each row shows Domain Rating, organic traffic, referring domains, niche, language and price, from $1 up to about $500. Publishers can also sell links on their own sites, with a price they set and approval of every placement.
A word on size. This is a small, focused site with ten pages, not an encyclopedia of SEO, and we would rather say less and keep it accurate. When a topic needs a specialist, such as legal advice about comparative advertising, we tell you to find one.
Who it is for
Solo founders and small teams who pay for hosting from their own pocket. People who have a landing page, a pricing page and a nagging question: where do the first links come from?
It is not for large brands with a link team, and it is not for anyone hoping for a shortcut. A link is one input, and we say so on every page where it matters.
If you want a rough map of the site, open the price guide for cost, the agency teardown for the retainer question, or the first order walkthrough for the mechanics.
Habits we keep
We mark examples
A made-up budget is called made-up. You will find no invented customers, quotes or results on these pages.
We date what we write
Each page carries an update date, and we name real Google updates by month when they matter, such as the March 2024 core update.
We say what links cannot do
They will not fix a confusing pricing page. They carry no promise about rankings, and neither does anyone else.
What you will find in the guides
Teardowns
We take apart a typical agency proposal and a typical comparison page, with invented examples marked as invented, so you learn the pattern without anyone's name attached.
Decision trees
If you have paying customers, go one way. If you do not, go another. The agency teardown includes one you can follow with a proposal open next to it.
Worked budgets
A $100, $500 or $1,000 plan laid out by month, with every figure labelled as an example and a reserve left unspent on purpose.
Checklists
Short, ordered and finishable in a week. The launch checklist is the most-used one.
Where the data comes from
Numbers first: donor metrics come from our own crawler and our own index. They are estimates and can differ from other tools such as Ahrefs or Semrush. Treat them as a way to compare rows with each other, not as a verdict.
We would rather you read first and buy second. Questions about an account or an order go through the account page. Start with the launch checklist if you are new here.
What we do not do
We do not run link schemes between our own guides and the marketplace. We do not publish customer stories, because none are ours to invent. We do not promise a position on Google.
What you get is a list, a basket and honest notes on how to use them.
